Growing Your Gratitude
Download worksheetThe ability to express gratitude is a skill just like running, reading or cooking. To improve your ability to be grateful and see the positive things happening in your life we must practice acknowledging the little and big things in life.
Let’s grow your gratitude together!
Here's How You Do It:
- To start, imagine the TREE being your body.
- The grass, dirt and water under the ground are the BIG things that help the TREE grow.
- Can you think of 3 BIG things that help you grow?
- Write them down, talk with a friend or adult to help you if needed.
- The branches are all the things you get to do each day and help you grow in different ways.
- Label your branches of different things or people that help you learn and grow.
- For example: Teachers, Friends, Basketball Team, Reading, etc
- The leaves are the little things in your day that help make you smile. The leaves are still very important.
- Draw or cut out the leaves to put on your branches.
- Write the little things that made you smile each day.
- For example:
- Laughing until I cried!
- Pizza at lunch.
- Making a new friend.
Fill your leaves and gratitude on your tree each day. Don’t forget to review your branches and your ground to make sure you keep the BIG things fresh in your mind to keep you GROWING!
